Community Garden Project
On Monday, February 11, 2013 the Rochester Hills City Council approved the proposed establishment of Rochester Hills’ first-ever Community Garden to be located at Wabash Park. Community gardens are places where residents can gather to cultivate plants, vegetables and fruits, and have been known to improve nutrition, physical activity, community engagement, safety and economic vitality for a neighborhood and its residents.
Through a partnership with Dinosaur Hill, Rochester Hills’ residents, scout groups and non-profits will be able to rent garden plots to grow fresh, local and organic plants, vegetable and fruits for personal use, or to donate to the local food pantry.
