Department Services
The Finance Department oversees the following city functions:
  • Accounting
  • Administration of the city’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program
  • Administration of the city’s retirement systems
  • Debt management
  • Long-range financial forecasting
  • Purchasing
  • Risk management

Additional Responsibilities
The Finance Department, working with the mayor and city department directors, prepares and administers the city's budget in accordance with the State Budgeting Act. The administration of the city’s budget includes amendment of the budget as needed and the development and review of citywide department performance measurements.
